Shooting Star Saddlery, owned and operated by Jeff Morrow, seeks to create the type of rugged and beautiful gear that you would be pleased to hand down to your children and grandchildren. Great care is taken in producing all of our products, whether it is a custom saddle, a case for CD's, or a leg-up hobble. Twenty-five years experience with leather, and many more years around horses, allows Jeff to fit the needs of most customers. Beginning an order for a saddle, Jeff likes to find out a rider's inseam, weight, thigh measurement, type of riding and horses that will be used. Some unique items produced include pommel bags that do not interfere with the saddle horn, a shoulder holster rig that is adjustable for pitch and position of gun as well as shooter's size and amount of clothes worn (i.e., will fit over a T-shirt and winter clothes.) |

For several years Jeff was invited to participate
in Western Heritage Days put on by the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic
Site. The
three day weekend is spent demonstrating saddle-making in a living history setting, using the old buggy sheds for a shop. Grant-Kohrs Ranch is a wonderfully preserved ranch dating to the 1860's. Western Heritage Days, held on the second weekend of July, is a mecca for artists, musicians, historians, cowboys, cowgirls, and dutch-oven cooks. Admission to the site is free during Western Heritage Days. Grant-Kohrs Ranch has a fantastic display of everything related to ranch work as well as a remarkable house stuffed with the fine Victorian furniture.
